MONDAY MOVIE MEME

This week Molly and Andy at the Bumbles Blog are asking all about movie soundtracks, so here's my pick:

One From The Heart (1982)

After Hours (1985)

The Piano (1993)

Magnolia (1999)

A Mighty Wind (2003)

Bit of a Teri Garr walk down memory lane with your first 2 movies!

One From The Heart does seem like a good soundtrack - I like Tom Waits.

You picked some good ones too. Magnolia is another favorite of mine--even more so my husband's. And The Piano--wonderful. I haven't seen A Mighty Wind or heard the soundtrack, but it's one I do want to check out.

Thanks for the comments.

The Bumbles - D'oh, I didn't even spot the Teri Garr connection (though I loved her in After Hours). If you like Tom Waits, then One From The Heart is definitely a good soundtrack.

Literary Feline - A Mighty Wind's soundtrack is full of spot-on pastiches of folk music (similar to the way that the same people lampooned Heavy Metal in This Is Spinal Tap) so if that sort of music appeals to you, then it's well worth checking out.

While I'm commenting, I'll mention that a couple of choices I realised in retrospect I should have made were Carter Burwell's yodeltastic soundtrack for Raising Arizona, and Something Wild which had a great selection of music in it.
