I think you'd like On the Waterfront. It's a great movie, in that it tells a good, exciting story. But after you see it, you realize it was about bigger things.

I've seen 63 of them. PLEASE watch Bridge On The River Kwai and To Kill A Mockingbird. Two favorites! I also love Rear Window - you'd like it if you enjoy Hitchcock and Jimmy Stewart - and Grace Kelly.
You didn't like LOTR. How come? Did you think the adaptation wasn't good enough?

The usual suspects is one of my favs. Tons of my friends either have never seen it or didn't care for it. I wonder what's wrong with them.
Thanks for the comments. Thanks for playing along, for those who did so, and thanks to The Gal Herself whose site I first saw it on (although presumably it started on Endomental's blog) and I'm just glad to be a link in the memetic chain.
The Gal Herself - I'll try and catch On The Waterfront the next time it's on.
The Bumbles - I really will try and watch both those films when I can (I've got To Kill A Mockingbird sitting on the DVR along with hours and hours of other unwatched stuff).
Rikki - I've never read LOTR (although I've read The Hobbit which was okay), but I'm just not that interested in the fantasy genre. I realise that there was a lot of care and attention that went into the film, but I just found it boring (I watched it on DVD - so might have lost some of the epic sweep there - and actually kept falling asleep during it; it seemed like a travelogue with some fighting). Anyway, I realise I'm in the minority here, but it's just not my type of film and it's possible that I just felt disappointed after all the hype (other blockbusters I disliked a lot more than LOTR were Jurassic Park and The Dark Knight). Still, at least I really like The Usual Suspects, so I guess I'm not totally irredeemable.
That's alright, you're forgiven, :-). Travelog with fighting is a good description, I must admit.
